So true. Every time I hear the Master wonder who's The Girly and who's The Freak I shout at him, "Oh, no question! Jack's the Girly! Martha's The Freak!" ;)
Heh, not sure I'd exactly call it hilarious, John does such a good job making getting zapped with the laser screwdriver look painful I cringe every time, but it does tempt me to write some hurt/comfort with Jack getting comforted.
I'm just a evil, evil little thing who finds his death hilarious. I'm in love with the fics where the team stands around mocking and commenting on his deaths while he comes back. I mean after a while, knowing he's gonna pop back up, and keep popping for a few million years, it kinda loses the drama. Hee though I read one hilarious one where Jack doesn't even die, but he decides to just lay there and play dead till he gets some attention from someone. (team just keep stepping over his body ignoring his 'corpse'.) Hee. Though I do like some good H/C, mostly cause I have a total thing for Concerned!Doctor!Owen.

Well, I don't find watching his "deaths" after Rose's having resurrected him as painful as watching him get killed by the Daleks in "The Parting of the Ways". I think it's less that he was really dead until Rose went all Deus Ex Machina Wonder Companion and resurrected him, more that he faced that death believing it was for keeps. All the times we've seen him get killed since then he's pretty much known it wasn't going to stick. He might have got his hope up with Cyber Woman or Abaddon, but deep down he knew.
